The Brain and Addiction
This video sets up how addiction works in the brain, explaining why things are addictive and why they are hard to stop. Addiction isn’t just to drugs and alcohol. It could be to food, sex, video games, phone (screen addiction), shopping, etc.

Vaping and Over The Counter (OTC)
Vaping is an international issue with people vaping everything from Alcohol to Vitamins. This video addresses all health effects to the lungs from inhaled hot chemicals and the science around the youth brain and vaping.

Narcotics and Fentanyl. The US has been in an opioid epidemic since the mid 1990’s when Oxycontin became available. Next it was Heroin as it was cheaper, followed by synthetic opioids like fentanyl and others. This video addresses the indicators of use, and overdose signs, how to help someone struggling by putting them in the recovery position, the importance of calling 911, use of the Good Samaritan Law, and Narcon the reversal drug.

Today’s Marijuana. Everything changed when Colorado legalized Marijuana in 2012. This video addresses the change in the potency of marijuana through genetic modification. The products no one knew was coming from the concentrates, to distillates, to edibles all marketed directly to kids. The science on the impact of the developing adolescent brain, mental health, and losing financial aid, scholarships and jobs.

Hallucinogens.
Youth are very interested in Hallucinogens today as they are available at raves, clubs, concerts, and glamorized on social media. This video addresses Ecstasy, Mushrooms, and LSD, and the indicators of use. The big issue with Hallucinogens is they can cause mental illness, especially if you have mental illness in your family.

Stimulants
The use of Stimulants is on the rise with youth today, especially Cocaine and ADHD meds with the increased academic pressure. This video will address the drugs in the class, what the drugs look like, as well as indicators of use, and the impact on the body and brain.
To complete the series, and to pull all the knowledge in the videos together, we have 2 very real and raw stories of addiction recovery. James and Andrea share their individual stories of Addiction and the impact it has had on them, their family, their life, and future. **These can be triggering so please be aware and take a break if needed.
